The PKDA Virtual Show 2010

Thank you for visiting the PKDA's inaugural virtual show over the past weekend and showing your support to both the PKDA dealer members that were exhibiting as well as those people that had taken the time and effort to enter the koi into the show by way of your time voting.

The JSC results are now in, and I've checked and certified the winner of the Peoples Choice and am pleased to be able to reveal the award winners of this years show.

The Grand Champion Award goes to a fantastic size 7 Kohaku owned by Stuart Toms pictured below. Stuart will be pleased to know that he'll soon be receiving a years supply of Kusuri Koi Food (based on size of his pond and stocking levels) as well as 10kg of food from Selective Koi Sales and a further 10kg of House of Kata food by way of their UK distributer, Isle Of Ely Koi.

The other major awards are as follows:

  • Mature Champion - Stuart Toms
  • Adult Champion - Stefan Malm
  • Young Champion - Anthony Grey
  • Baby Champion - Jackie Porter & Glen Jones

These koi have also won their owners some food prizes including 10kg of food from Selective Koi Sales 3.9kg from House of Kata by way of their UK distributor, Isle Of Ely Koi.

The best in size award are as follows:

  • Size 1 - Neil Lukins
  • Size 2 - Jim O'Brien
  • Size 3 - Helen Clark
  • Size 4 - Sue Ravenhill

  • Size 7 - Alan Coogan
  • Size 8 - Alan Coogan

The best in size winners will also be getting their hands on some superb prizes including, 5kg of food from Selective Koi Sales and 1.2kg of House of Kata food by way of their UK distributer, Isle Of Ely Koi.

That leaves us with just two awards, the Judges Choice and the Peoples Choice awards. The Peoples choice was a tight contest at the end with just 3 fish competing and was finally separated by just .1 on the scoring. The Koi in contention were:

  • Hi Showa (Ref: 10) - Owned by Martin Barnet
  • Yamabuki (Ref: 37) - Owned by Iain Kirkbright
  • Bekko (Ref: 210) - Owned by Mike Hall

In the end the winner of the Peoples Choice Award was Iain Kirkbright with his Yamabuki, but Mike Hall wasn't to miss out on the spoils as he receives the Judges Choice award for his Bekko, both of these will recieve 2.4kg of House of Kata food by way of their UK distributer, Isle Of Ely Koi.
